EveryDay

I just arrived home from my first girls only game night here in Payette. Oh how I have missed games with the girls!! Nothing like a truck-load of estrogen to keep you going all month. Thanks Ladies! Fellow gamers should be proud, we did quit promptly at 10:30pm as promised to some of the husbands to allow this to go on. ; ) I'm not quite ready to cash it in (too many night shifts??), so I thought I would catch up a bit.

Rachel and Lizzy after church a couple weeks ago. They do like each other every once in awhile. Aren't those the cutest smiles?....Ok, now for what every other day is like....

Lately the girls have stopped thinking that cleaning is their responsibility so.....most of their toys that need to be 'cleaned up' are on time out--for 2 weeks (they'll be free when Rachel hits 4). That leaves them with the options that are in the plastic Walmart drawers under the bed--Dress up!!

Samantha set this up and told each of them where to place her arms when I told her I wanted a shot of all three--all this after one basketball game?? Curse that half-time entertainment.

Is this a sign of what is to come?? Look at those moves, I'm not sure she realizes that she is not even two yet??

All because of the wonderful example of ....

How could you resist? I love what happens when I threaten them with bed before dinner if they leave anything that belongs to them out in the front room. They can be quite creative.
For example: when we were discussing their Valentines project Sam tells me--when asked if she had any pink paper, 'I'm sure I do, Mom, but it is on time-out, so we'll just have to use yours.' Aren't they supposed to be a bit older when they figure this stuff out?? Not to worry--yet another experience well preserved for later blackmail.

Bloggorific

Ok, so the combination of eight somewhat steady hours at the computer (interspersed with some occasional nursing care) has made me want to sing praises to blogs...and people who place links to other people on them. I spent the night looking up and linking to some of my high school, mission, and past location friends. I'm so grateful for the technology which makes this possible. How amazing is it to be able to sift through all those memories of the 'good ole days' as I watched what wonderful people/parents those pesky teenagers/kids became. So thank you to all of you who take the time to record thoughts and feelings, funny kid stories, as well as very significant struggles. I feel I have been blessed to become part of your lives through this night--or maybe it's just the sleep deprivation. All joking aside...THANKS!!

New Years!

Since I worked the weekend following Christmas, we 'stacationed' for Christmas. But that left the following weekend open for a road trip---To Pasco and my little sister and her three crazy boys and recent arrival--a baby sister. I'm not sure who was more excited to meet little Eliza--me or Elizabeth. All week in preparation I'd been asking the girls if they were ready to go meet 'baby Liza'--As soon as Lizzy saw Eliza (could this get confusing in the future??) asleep on the couch-she said 'baby, baby' and went to pat her on the head and give her a kiss. In all her 20 month exuberance, I was a bit nervous for Eliza--but Ruby (is that better?) was amazingly gentle and loving. Oh how I love it when they surprise us!

We had a great weekend watching the kids destroy the boys room, eating (both in & out), going to the gun range to play with the (big) boys new toys, playing games, and (the girls' highlight) hottubbing. It is always fun to watch the cousins get to know each other again (the 30 seconds until it's just like old times), and to forge new bonds.

Thanks, Adam & Kim, for allowing us to come and invade.

There is nothing I love more than photo shoots with little ones....since I played with a bunch today and sent them to myself (instead of my anniversary picture...) I guess I will post some here. We even tried a family photo (thanks Mike). Hopefully I don't get too carried away...

I couldn't resist the baby sized basket.

Eliza in front of the fire with her fuzzy blanket.

Cole just before the family shoot. Baby blues.

Who could resist this sweet smile? Gotta love Bentley!

Cole with his clone. In looks and personality. Sweet.

Mike's idea. The boys loved it (except Bentley). They were all giggles in the next shot..

The Family. All those handsome boys!!
Ok, so I got just a bit carried away. (This isn't all of them...)

Oh, how I love sleeping babies!! Isn't she just sweet. I'm glad you got your girl, Kim. We love her too much already.
