Mike has this thing about his hair.
He hates to cut it.
So when we do, we have to make it good.
We did the mowhawk from the shag first, but I didn't have enough hair spray or patience in the house to make it work, so we got rid of the back and this is what became of it after it dried.
I will have to post the picture of him from 7th grade or so, in his purple rayon shirt--they are shockingly similar.
He wet it again before mutual and I'm glad to report that at least one of his deacons recognized the George McFly look.
I think it's safe to say that we took a few years off.
Not to worry. We will finish the job before 'the holy day of obligation' (as my brother-in-law likes to call Valentines).
Also well before our temple trip on that 'holy day'.
I love that he never allows me to take life too serious.

7th grade seems to be a good year for hair . . . Stan wants me to grow mine out just like in my 7th grade school picture (sans purple rayon shirt, though).

Ty came home from mutual to tell me about this. Hilarious! I think he should have kept it. :) Maybe it is better to cut it before the trip to the temple. :)
Nice hair Mike. I think my brother in law has your purple shirt. His wife tries to DI it every year. This was a killer post. Gave us a good laugh today.
Fun to see you!

Strike hard strike first, no mercy sir. If you didn't get that I think Mike looks like Johnny on the karate kid, that is a great thing he was hot with his tufted hair sweep. I may look a little like ralph macchio. So I guess another epic battle is in the works, I don't think I ever won a wrestling match.
hey i actually like that look! This is trish anderson I just wanted to say hi and i see you like to visit my blog and leave no comments! not cool! btw your girls are adorable!
great post Ann this cracked me up! I think we all have some great photos from way back that just need to stay in the box. I love your comment about the holy day of obligation I guess I had never looked at it like this until now!! So true! But funny nonetheless!! :) Good to cut before temple! Mike's buddy from the mission was able to meet the Prophet after his mission and he shook his hand and told him he was a return missionary to which the prophet replied "you don't look like one" OUCH!! So I think of that often as I dress my children and try to teach them about their appearance. It has always bothered him. Sad huh??? Anyway it's also good to never take life too seriously! I'm not sure why I just shared that I guess it is because I think of it soo much. One of those lessons you learn from someone else I guess! Anyway you made me smile!
